the 100% pencetak rompak with his lame excuses
I started to blog since end of last year - December. From then on, my blog traffic has been growing steadily but not as high as 5xmom, hongkiat and kennysia but I’m still happy.
I’m happy for who I am and for what I did though not famous. Opss.. I should say I am not famous YET! So it never cross my mind to have my blog post use by others especially the media. Just take a look at KY’s blog. TheStar used his post heavily and without inform him up front. For me, it is still ok since TheStar’s writer did quote KY’s blog though she did it without KY’s prior knowledge.
I really don’t mind if TheStar were to use my blog post without my knowledge. But what I really care and mind and piss me off is when someone took my whole blog posts and directly pasted to his blog. 100% copy and paste and without due credits given to me or quoted samyeap.com.
The 100% pencetak rompak!

The above post is about Fala Chen. My post about her is here. The words, sentences, content and pictures are exactly the same as mine.
Now that was not the only one. There were another 2 post in his blog that copy and paste 100% from samyeap.com

samyeap.com Mamma Mia post is here. Take a look.

This is the Moonlight Resonance post taken directly from here in samyeap.com.
Though the author of the blog did apologies but I found his reasons or rather excuses, amusing!

Lazy to type wor….
Didn’t realise this website is a blog wor?
Hey dude, please google the word plagiarism, you plagiarist!

plagiarism is a very serious crime nowadays. But I’m wondering what do we bloggers have to protect ourselves against this? What do we do if this happens? I mean like there’s no online police or United Online Nation or ISA(internet security act) or what shit. There just none.

It is something quite serious especially for blogs and websites. I heard that Google will penalize websites for having duplicate content, so this affects your PageRank.
We should never be happy for people to copy our stuff. Refer to us and link to us, ok. Copy, never.
As for the person who copied your stuff because he was too lazy to type… I will tell him that he has no business starting a blog. Better work at photostat shop la.

I see liao also feel lazy to do that, sien. One thing you can do is to watermark your posts with a siggy (image type better) linking to your blog, so it’d appear also in the copycat’s.

You just can’t stop people from plagiarizing anything from the net. Even using Wikipedia as reference without linking back to them as acknowledgment is considered plagiarism. How many people really take that seriously nowadays? Haiz…
