If you are living or holidaying in Penang and love to watch sunset ( just like me) then sunset bistro in Batu Ferringhi offers the best place to watch sunset.

Sunset bistro is located behind the Ferringhi Garden and just next to Parkroyal Hotel. If you are driving, just turn right after Pakroyal Hotel into a small lane. Soon, you will reach a T-junction at the end of the road. Turn left and immediately a signboard of sunset bistro greets you.

Yesterday, I went to sunset bistro again. The first reason was to watch the sunset and relax and have drink with friends. Second reason was because I heard sunset bistro is going to make way for a new hotel at the area soon. I’m not sure it’s the truth or otherwise but the rumour certainly made me felt goose bump.

I always tell my friends I like this place a lot. Why? It’s because of the environment. I can do many things over here. Play cards, drink, eat, watch sunset, play banana boat, jet skiing, horse riding and parasailing.  Bottom line, it’s the best place to view sunset.

My friends and I were there around 6pm. While waiting for the sun to set, my friends decided to try the parasailing with me on the boat to capture their pictures. I opted out from parasailing as I was not ready… hahaha..

After a few round near by the beach, my friends happily landed while I sat on the boat enjoying the nice scenery of Batu Ferringhi beach.

Slowly as time past by, the sun began to set. It was really nice experience. I saw a couple sitting on the beach and enjoying the view and playing with the sea water.

Occasionally, I took some sunset pictures while I had my sunset dinner at this lovely sunset bistro. I think it’s a nice place to have sunset wedding too.

Beautiful sunset, isn’t it? I bet if not because of the clouds the sunset will be even more beautiful.

If you a Penangite and can’t always go to Bali or Phuket or Pattaya or watch sunset at Bakheng hill, then Sunset bistro at Batu Ferringhi is definitely the place for you to unwind during the weekends.

Update: Sunset Bistro was demolished by the state authority on 22nd January 2011 .

i was there early this April for a drink. i heard that there are closing down soon. don’t know how true is that. hopefully it is not.

I have been there for a few times before, the price is reasonable, and they have to improve on their waiter to further delight their customer. Some of them are quite rude and ignorant. But overall, the place is nice.

I’ve been to sunset bistro once…it was a month ago…i never found that feringgi have a nice beach and nice place to chill…my thought was wrong…this is the coolest place ever..even day time and night..the foods are superb and the price cheap too..same goes to the beverage..we had jaz beer and cost us rm30 for one bucket…and the best part is..we can bring bottle into the bistro and they only charge for rm80….and the peoples in penang they are really friendly and helpful…definately i will come again..soon…check it out peepz!!!!

omg. I must go to this place someday. I just recently move to penang & m looking for the best sunset watching spot/bar/bistro around d island. any other recommendation apart from this sunset bistro?

anggun3- U can always go to Pasir Panjang, Pulau Betong to watch sunset. The beach is beautiful and not many people..mostly local people only.

sunset bistro is very nice place to relax..having beer while waiting for sunset. the staff are friendly,food not bad,price affordable for everyone..come to sunset and chill out..meet me there..look for pokemonene..

i agree with you pokemonene.looking forward to meet you at sunset..and id like to meet the two young bar men at new bar ive got crush on them the first i saw them..but i got no chance to talk to them…i see them very busy.and i always sit down by the beach..anyway one day hope to chat with them..see yah..

Wow… how about organizing a Bachata party with a view here? That would be a perfect bachata by the beach party location. Dang~~ I am a bachatero from Los Angeles. If anyone wanna hv a bachata party here, I may even sponsor Rm$500 for drinks.. LOL. Cheers! Nice sunset!

Wonderful place – was there on 02/11/2009 – great night BUT… somebody stole my camera,which put a damper on the whole holiday!!! – Any information to have it returned would be greatly appreciated – even if its just the internal XD card ,as it has all our memories.Thanks.
