Malaysiakini reported Anwar will be contesting the Permatang Pauh parliamentary seat which was held by his wife Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail, who has informed the House Speaker on her resignation earlier today. This is the latest breaking news coming from Anwar who may be arrested in the next 48 hours according to Tian Chua the PKR information chief.
Meanwhile, the Home Minister Syed Hamid Albar had revealed that police has completed the investigations into the sodomy complaint against Anwar Ibrahim and it is depends on the Attorney-General’s Chambers for further action. Below is what Anwar told the reporters as reported in Malaysiakini.
“There are thousands of criminal cases not properly investigated. Why pursue this with zeal and in an unjust way? Is it because I will participate in a by-election?” Anwar told reporters.
“You want me to withdraw? No. I will continue to pursue the change. Let’s see if they want to charge me,” he said after being interviewed by Islamic syariah enforcement officials over the allegations.
And this is what Tun Dr.Mahathir responded on Anwar decision to contest the by-election, “A loving wife could do nothing better… My wife would have done the same,”
It seems like Malaysian will be watching more dramas by next week.
