Travelling around Jakarta is really stress. The roads are congested with heavy traffic especially during peak hours; early morning and late evening. Moreover, Jakarta’s roads are notorious for undisciplined driver behaviour and breaking the transportation laws are common.

Think twice when you travel by taxi in Jakarta city. The driver may take you merry go round before arrive at your destination. I heard some tourist in Jakarta got robbed in taxi. Hence, beware when you travel by taxi in Jakarta city.
When I was in Jakarta, I travel by taxi from one place to another for most of the time, apart from walking. Yes, I did walk for more than 3km in Jakarta city at night with another male friend. I will blog about that next time.
For safety and reliability reason, I choose Blue Bird Group or in hokkien, it means ‘lam jiao’ taxi. The Blue Bird Group is comprise of Silver Bird, Morante, Cendrawasih and Pusaka Nuri taxis. Take blue bird group taxi to anywhere you go in Jakarta as it is highly recommended in forums and by samyeap.com.

Taxi in Jakarta is unlike in Malaysia. The driver drives Toyota Vios not Proton Waja or Saga or Wira. : P

A nice and lovely Blue Bird taxi to travel from one place to another in Jakarta.

The driver will need to display his badge with the Blue Bird Group name and his photos togethee with the employee number as well.

While travelling in Blue Bird taxi, you can take a look at the company brochures which provides useful information about the company and its subsidiaries.

Not only that, they even provide their company magazine called Mutiara Biru for you to understand about their company and activities further. Sorry, I hardly can remember whether it is monthly publication or not.

Blue bird group taxi even provides 24 hour service. You can call them at any time and any where. They will ask a Blue bird group to fetch you right at your door step. Oh…they even have charter bus. Minimum payment is Rp 25,000 and cancellation fee is Rp 5000.
Yoo…next time when you are in Jakarta and cannot get haul of Blue Bird Group taxi, all you need is just dial 79171234 or 7941234. A blue bird taxi will arrive shortly after that.
Just a reminder, though! Due to its’ popularity, there are a lot of ‘pirated bluebird taxi’ around Jakarta.

Therefore, please check the following before you get in:
1. Door and roof logo is either the Blue Bird or the Pusaka/Lintas “flying egg”
2. Windshield says “Blue Bird Group”
3. Driver is in uniform
4. Headrests have Blue Bird logos
Let me show why Bluebird taxi is the better choice compared to other transportation mode..

Bluebird is much comfortable and safer than bajaj as shown above.

With Bluebird you can sit alone without having to squeeze yourself with others in Angkutan Kota.
What else can I say?
Affordable, Friendly, Efficient and effective taxi service which I never had in KL and definitely not in Penang.
Sigh! 2x sigh! Why can’t the Malaysian government provides a good public transportation to us, Malaysian.
Malaysia Boleh? What about our public transportation?
